Philip was my grandmothers brother who enlisted in the Irish Guards on Dec 29th 1913. He was subsequently killed at Ypres on 20-6-1916 and is remembered at the Menin Gate memorial in Belgium.

Amongst the items attached are Philips original 'Soldiers small Book,notification of his death 'Killed in Action' various correspondences from the army in relation to personal possessions gratuities medals and note from Buckingham Palace recognising his sacrifice.All his medals are included as are some postcards exchanged with family members and a photo of Philip in military uniform.
